The Ampera won the European Car Of The Year title, which is always a bonus for any new model.
In electric/petrol mode together it returned just over 100mpg, and in petrol mode it averaged between 53 and 63mpg — both impressive figures.
It costs £29,995 — including a Government grant for £5,000.
